Diane F. Daly Family Law Office
165 Cross Avenue, Suite 301, Oakville, ON , L6J 0A9
Diane earned her Juris Doctor in 1989 and was called to the Ontario bar in 1991. Diane practised corporate law for a short time and in 1992, she opened her sole-practitioner firm practising family law. Diane developed a successful litigation practice, but became frustrated by the animosity and conflict that court-based family law resolution often fosters. So in 1995, she undertook mediation training. Then in 2002 she began training in Collaborative Family Law, and has not looked back since. She now focuses on Collaborative Family Law (CFL), traditional negotiation, and mediation. Diane believes that family law negotiation should be child and family-focused, and emphasize the importance of openness, integrity and mutual respect.
A long-time resident of Halton, Diane has practised in Oakville for over 25 years. She is an active member of the community and believes in giving back. Diane sat on the board of the Sexual Assault Violence Intervention Services (SAVIS) for ten years, six of which as the Chair Person. Diane is past President of the Zonta Club of Oakville. She is an active member of the Women in Halton Action Movement (WHAM), and is a committee member of the International Women's Day Dinner Party, an annual fundraiser for local and international charities. Diane is a past Director of the Halton County Law Association. She is a former Dispute Resolution Officer in the Milton Court. Currently, Diane is a presenter of the Mandatory Information Program, and conducts on-site mediation, both at the Milton Court. In 2013, Diane was proud to be awarded the Individual Community Spirit Award in Oakville for Outstanding Achievements in Volunteerism.
Diane Daly is a respected member of the Law Society of Upper Canada; Halton County Law Association; International Academy of Collaborative Professionals; Family Mediation Canada; Association of Family and Conciliation Courts; and the Peel-Halton Collaborative Practice Group.
